How to Layer Oracal 651 using registration marks.

3 colors of Oracal 651 layered on top of each other using registration marks.

How to layer a decal with registration marks

Step 1: Apply application tape to the top layer of your decal. For this project I used the Transfer Rite 1310 Ultra Clear Transfer Tape for the top layer.

Step 2: Remove the backing on your top layer. I find the best way to do this is to flip your decal over and peel the backing off of the transfer tape versus peeling the transfer tape off the backing.

Step 3: Put the backing back on top of the decal exposing just the registration marks at the top of the decal. That way when you go to layer it, the only thing your worrying about is lining up your registration marks. The rest of the decal wont touch.

Step 4: Line up the top layer registration marks with the second layer registration marks and remove the backing from the top layer. I find it easiest to remove the backing from the top down and squeegee the top layer to the second layer.

Step 5: Repeat steps 2-4 for the bottom layer of your decal and you now have a 3 layered decal!
